Axitare is a pioneering medical device company specializing in easy-to-use medication dispensing robots for elderly people living at home. Its unique solution automatically dispenses medication into cups and reminds elderly home care customers to take them with an audio announcement, significantly improving medication adherence. Its software platform enables caregivers to monitor medication intake remotely as well as to use robots as broader remote care devices. The solution thereby enables elderly people to live safely at home for longer, while providing an efficient and improved means of care for the public sector.

The Vaaka factor: We joined forces with Axitare and its founders to accelerate the company’s international growth and to assist in its mission to support efficient home care, and safe & high-quality independent living. Besides expanding abroad, key focus areas for our journey will be strengthening the team through recruitment, launching new products and expanding the company’s R&D capabilities.

The big picture: Nordics are facing challenges with their ageing populations and the preference of elderly individuals to live at home, compounded by financial pressure on the public sector.
