Vaaka Partners strengthens its Board with three new independent members

Vaaka Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of three new independent members to its Board of Directors, effective 10 March 2026. Jean‑François Le Ruyet, Tiina Halmesmäki, and Sebastian Ehrnrooth join the Board as part of a planned renewal that supports the firm’s long-term strategy. 

Vaaka has consistently maintained a strong representation of independent board members, to ensure a long-term view to the development of the firm ensuring alignment of interests of fund investors, team members, Vaaka companies and other stakeholders.  

Jean‑François Le Ruyet is a senior private‑equity professional with more than 25 years of experience, including over 20 years at Quilvest Capital Partners as Senior Partner leading global primaries, co‑investments and secondaries, bringing extensive institutional investor perspective. His earlier career includes strategy consulting roles at Bain & Company and McKinsey & Company. He is a graduate of HEC Paris and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School. He currently serves as an independent board member and advisor to investment firms.

Tiina Halmesmäki brings deep legal and regulatory expertise from her fifteen years at CapMan, where she served as Senior Legal Counsel and later as General Counsel with responsibility for group‑wide legal affairs, regulatory compliance, fund governance and listed‑company obligations. She holds an LL.M. from the University of Helsinki and an MBA from the University of Vaasa. In 2025, she joined Sampo plc as Chief Legal Officer and member of the Group Executive Committee.

Sebastian Ehrnrooth brings broad experience in portfolio company ownership and oversight with more than two decades of Nordic private‑equity experience from Segulah, where he served as Partner, Managing Partner and Chair of the Investment Committee. With an M.Sc. in Engineering from Linköping Institute of Technology and an MBA from IMD Lausanne, he adds a strong combination of operational, financial and governance experience.

Perttu Louhiluoto will continue as Chair of the Board. He has served as Chair since 2021 and brings extensive experience in international growth leadership. He is currently the CEO of Severn Group. Vaaka Partners’ representatives in the Board are Juha Peltola, Tomas Therén and Panu Vuorela. Collectively, the Board brings broad and complementary expertise across the financial sector, investment management, regulatory matters and corporate governance, supporting Vaaka’s continued journey of helping mid-sized companies become business champions.
