Ovenia Isännöinti acquires Mikkelin Asuntokeskus
Mikkelin Asuntokeskus, a real estate management company, is now owned by Ovenia Isännöinti. The merger of these companies in the same sector has taken place as the owners of Mikkelin Asuntokeskus wanted to find a way for operations to continue with additional resources for developing operations.
Ovenia Isännöinti, which is one of the biggest companies in Finland providing real estate management services, has acquired Mikkelin Asuntokeskus. The acquisition makes Ovenia Isännöinti the leading provider of real estate management services in the Mikkeli area. The company will be responsible for a portfolio of about 300 properties in the area with an approximate total of 6,500 apartments.
The acquisition will boost Ovenia Isännöinti’s operations in the area. “Our strategy is to be near to our customers and to provide the benefits of a national organisation,” says Atte Ojanen, Area Manager, Eastern and Central Finland, Ovenia Isännöinti. “The acquisition provides us with more of the best professionals in the real estate management sector and enables us to offer our customers the best possible services in the area.”
Real estate management is evolving as demands increase
“Joining Ovenia will boost our selection of services and support the professional development of our personnel,” says Juhani Kortelainen, Managing Director of Mikkelin Asuntokeskus.
“Renovations and energy-efficiency requirements, in particular, are expanding the job description of real estate managers and require plenty of new skills. The broadening of the sector and increase in the competence required is likely to make real estate management an interesting sector in the future,” say Atte Ojanen and Juhani Kortelainen.
Operations at both offices will continue as before for the time being. The merger of operations will be implemented in stages during 2014. After the merger, Atte Ojanen will focus on his tasks as area manager of Eastern and Central Finland and Juhani Kortelainen will be responsible for the office in Mikkeli.
The services provided to the customers of Ovenia Isännöinti and Mikkelin Asuntokeskus and contact persons will remain unchanged. As the area’s leading real estate management company, Ovenia will draw up more general agreements in the area, which will benefit customers and local partners.
Merger is part of Ovenia Isännöinti’s growth plan
“The acquisition of Mikkelin Asuntokeskus is a continuation of the growth and business plan drawn up with our principal shareholder, Vaaka Partners.
